Iranian documentary ‘The Lady’ has been honored at the Veracruz World Film Festival in Mexico.

The film directed by Mohammad Habibi-Mansour, grabbed the honorary diploma at the seventh edition of the event.

‘The Lady’ narrates the challenging life of Esmat Ahmadian, the mother of two martyrs of the Sacred Defence, Ebrahim and Esmail.

After the war, Esmat Ahmadian tried her hand at social and economic activities and today, she’s one of the most influential and exemplary women in the city of Ahvaz.

Veteran Iranian actress Sorayya Ghasemi has narrated the documentary.

The film was previously screened at the 38th edition of Fajr Film Festival and Ammar Popular Film Festival.

The Veracruz World Film Festival is dedicated to extremely independent films made with very little or no budget and without strong support.

It is a unique event of its kind on a continental level with an exclusive programming that no other film festival in the Americas has.

The 2020 edition of the festival was held on December 7-30.
